Has anyone recommendations for camping in West Cork?

Myself and girlfriend are going down this weekend, I plan on doing a bit of surf too, anyone have any recommendations?
Preferrably somewhere close to the sea with shower facilities that's about it, the less children around the better and definitely no knackers!

Garrettstown is one place I've come across on the web which may fit the bill..

Also is there anywhere people would recommend in the Clare/Limerick vacinity?
I won't be heading down from Galway till Saturday eve so probably better to stop somewhere half way on the way down.

There's a good campsite in Doolin (Co. Clare) called Nagles. Its down near the peir and has excellent facilities: Showers, kitchens, even a laundry room. Its tent and caravan friendly.

Barleycove is cool, by Mizen Head.

    Evil Phil,
Which side is that Nagles on? is it the Galway side or limerick side, I've stayed in one on top of the hill on the Limerick side of town before.
Anywhere further down the road than Lahinch?

Cadrach, that Barleycove looks lovely alright. Get's pretty crowded on bank holidays I'd imagine. Ever tried the surf or snorkling there?

Nagles is pretty much bang in the middle of Doolin behind the peir. If you go down to the peir its on the right hand side of the road (across from the pitch and putt course of memory serves). Doolin is 12 km or so up the coast from Lahinch, going towards Galway.

I would say its about half way between Lahinch and Fanore beach.

I don't know anything about surfing... so I don't know if Barleycove is good for it or not. I know that Inchydoney near Clonakilty is good for surfing, because my friend used to surf there, but for all I know, Barleycove could be as good or better. I have gone snorkeling in Crookhaven near Barleycove and it is cool. The best thing though for a little camping weekend is that you have Barleycove beach, then you have Mizen Head, then you have Crookhaven village and the deep harbour there, and you can follow the peninsula around the other side and there are loads of little mini beaches and stuff. It probably would be jammed in the height of the summer though, but isn't everywhere?

Oh yes Doolin sorry, I was thinkin of Lahinch, yes Doolin might be a good shout alright, even Fanore I suppose but it's still a long way t ogo to Cork the next day, anywhere further south?

West Cork looks nice alright, the surfing isn't a requirement, be nice to do some activity in the water though.
