Left my 4GB CF Card next to the TV in the Hotel I stayed in this weekend, about 500 photos on it. Hotel has no knowledge of it ... ever feel emmensely frustrated? Sorry for the pointless thread, but had to vent!

oh absolute balls.. cleaner probably binned it without thinking about it. Vent on, I know it's an incredibly annoying thing to happen.

At least it's not full of compromising shots, of you with your Gay lover, like the Flash card I found, in a hotel one.
Wonder if they ever called back to the hotel, to claim it. :D

I feel your pain!! I once lost a 512 MB memory stick pro, probably in Connolly station, with hundreds of photos from the holidays in South of Spain! I had no backup either!! :(

Yeah, it's a horrible thing to happen... I left my Nikon Coolpix 4300, a heap of accessories and a CF card with several hundred photos on it in my hotel room on Gozo (Malta) a few years back. Still kicking myself over it, that was a great little camera in its day, and I'd spent a solid week doing nothing but cycling around the island and taking photos. Not much consolation I know, but it's probably the last time you'll do something like that - I know I'm extra careful and know exactly where all my stuff is at all times now.

Got myself a new Sandisk 4 Gig Extreme III in the post today, just in time for a little trip to Poland. Hopefully I'll actually bring the card home with me from this holiday :D

here's a little trick to ensure you dont loose this one.. run a small amount of glue along the edges of the card before you put it into the camera. I guarantee that card will be with you for as long as the camera is..

Eh no. I prefer to use the card reader built into my monitor to transfer the images back. Using the camera's batteries is a no no no. Even if there's 2 in there.

[EDIT] I see your sarcasm now. My brain is fried after today. Doh!
