Anyone seen this? Its Directed by Terry Gilliam, based on a novel by Mitch Cullin.
Basically, i dont know wether its a great movie, or one of the worst ive ever seen. I honestly cant tell. I'll have to watch it again to judge, but its messed up beyond belief. The story centres around a kid called Jeliza Rose who along with her druggie aging rock star dad Jeff Bridges move to a run down house in the middle of nowhere after her mother OD's on smack. Jeliza rose then appears to go completely batsh!t-mental.
I have to say i think the lobotomised retard character really dragged the movie down, he came across as a bit of a jar jar binks-esque irritation. I wont go into any spoilers but suffice to say some scenes had my jaw agape at just how asbolutely ****ed up this movie is.

    Anyone??

Went to see this in the cinema when it came out. Not the easiest viewing experience but quite different to anything I've seen before or after.

Have to agree that I was unsure if I liked it or hated it. Once in a while it's good to see a movie that stirs an emotional response like that. I'll probably never watch it again though.

This was the first movie I brought my girlfriend to see. Strangely she's still with me.

    Here's my review

I liked it. But I will admit, I can totally understand how someone wouldn't. It's a very difficult movie to watch and sum up.

I very much like Terry Gilliam but I must admit I thought this was a steaming turd of a film. It has absolutely no redeeming qualities whatsoever, and it's attempts at being controversial for the sake of it (see:
the love story, the constantly decomposing corpse of Jeff Bridges
) are pitiful. It's appalingly paced, muddled tone throughout and all kinds of other badness.
