Stars $109 tourney. Comfortably stacked with 43BB. This hand comes up. No major info on these guys, we have not tangled.
    Well, what do you do?

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t200 (8 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

    SB (t9745)
    Hero (t8705)
    UTG (t4420)
    UTG+1 (t2505)
    MP1 (t9550)
    MP2 (t7975)
    CO (t6040)
    Button (t9470)

Preflop: Hero is BB with Aheart.gif, Kclub.gif.
    1 fold, UTG+1 raises to t2480, 4 folds, SB calls t2380,

    And I?

Without info on the villans I don't expect there is a right answer.
It might be time to find a heroic fold. Often the flat call of the shortstacks all in indicates a monster that does not want to isolate the shorty.

But in the real world and being the donk that I am I'm mostly shoving hoping to get hu with an early raiser who has shoved from the looser end of his range and scaring off a speculative call from the sb.

I'm interested to hear what the good tournament players think.

I would mostly be happy to shove here as well and end up in a race with the extra equity from the caller (unless he has a monster). If it is a 3 way pot there will be a side pot equal to your current stack, if UTG calls and the SB folds you are getting 5/2 on whatever hand you are against. If UTG folds (highly unlikely) and SB calls then this is probably the least good situation, but I take a chance and push anyhow.

Edit: Oops, I misread and thought it was UTG, not UTG+1. I still push I think.

UTG+1 is all-in? Strange raise otherwise. A stop and parp?
I think a push is good too but I wouldn't hate a call with position on SB.

Cant really see the necessity to get involved here.

    I fold.

FWIW, if I was in the sb with rockets I would smooth call. If he doesn't have them I would not be too put out.

I'm pretty sure I'm a rubbish tourney player and I push......so probably a good sign for you. LOL

I doubt that I ever fold here.

Ok , results, although they do not really matter here. I shoved , after 10 seconds thought. My immediate instinct was to fold, as that flat call by the SB was kinda scary , but my brain managed to convince me it could also be a bit weak, mid pair 77-JJ, and that a shove would get me heads up with shortie with a healthy chunk of dead money in the pot. The SB thought for a bit and called with JJ. Shortie had AQo (so one of my outs was gone).

So in this instance I was not in bad shape, but missed. I can't help feeling that most of the time the small blinds flat call is AA or KK though. I still feel that if ever there was a spot for folding AK in an online tournie, this was it. That flat call is pretty damn strong, and i have only 1bb invested in the pot at the moment.

Edit. also i think Pushing or folding are my only options here. If we just flatcall the SB and hit our Ace or King, there will be no sidepot built unless we are crushed!
