All taken yesterday (Sat). This was definately a workout for my 50mm, which has been gathering dust for a while, heh.

I've been practicing shooting to the right and exposing for shadows - it makes for better portraiture as bright eyes are much easier to adjust than dark ones. To prove the point, the only post work on the first and second was to up exposure a stop and then boost contrast.

First two are fantastic, the first one especially so.

    f*ck Mark.

    They're really good.

    Really really good.

Left eye in the second is slightly oof, but we're not gonna start a debate about that.

How much did you pay to get your kid photographed in the first picture? It is more than professional work!

I saw these on your blog and meant to comment. I was thinking that the Connamara light is definitely darker ;)

Fabulous work as usual. Is this newfound bright, light colourful (sorry you are in the US now so that should be colorful!) approach a reflection on your joy of being around the kid? :p

The best of 200 photos and spot metering on the eye and overexposing by a stop, respectively.
