Contact Lenses

Not exactly sure if this is the correct place but I'm wondering what most people think of contact lenses, specifically whether they get dailys/monthlys or something else.

I recently made the switch to monthlys from dailys and i'm struggling to see the benefit in doing so. I mean they cost more then my dailies, if I lose or contaminate the monthlys I have to throw them away (E66 gone) and its a pain having to take them out and sterilise them. The only benefit I can see is they can be worn longer than dailys i.e. 12 hours rather than 7-8 or whatever it is. I'm considering switching back as I don't see the point.

Am I missing something? Or am I getting fleeced by Specsavers and they should be cheaper :)

uh.. the monthlies I was using (until I got laser eye surgery a few months ago) I could leave in for up to a week before I was reccomended to take them out for a night.

that was the only reason I switched to monthlies, not having to take them in and out every morning.

the first monthlies I had, I did have to take out nightly as wel.. so I think there are a few diff kinds, ask in specsavers about the ones you can leave in for days at a time. it was the next best thing to having perfect vision, there were days when I forgot I was wearing lenses.

course now that I've had the surgery, it's just fantastic.
    absolutely fan-smegging-tastic.

Laser surgery is a bit extreme for me I think :) It would be nice though...

I think I'll talk ask the guy in specsavers again so and see what he says.
