    Hi Guys

Im looking for some info on the Linksys SPA9000, (anyone have have any experience with this unit?)

I want to be able to port two landline numbers (Phone/Fax) both 01 to point at the Linksys SPA9000 with 6 extensions (have upgrade) I want the 01 Phone number to point at a Auto Attendant and the fax to plug into one of the two RJ11 phone ports. I want 6 DDI's to point at each extension. How do I get DDi's if I have no eircom account? or will I need a eircom account to get the ddi range on my eircom number?

First question's, what is involved in porting my two numbers to the VoIP provider, how is my 01 number attached to my voip account?

also who is best business VoIP provider in Ireland (am i missing anyone)

    Blueface - http://www.blueface.ie/
    Freespeech - http://www.freespeech.ie/
    VoIPIrl - http://www.voiceireland.ie/voip/

I will be getting Magnet (Spur Connection, no eircom connection at all) 8Mb Down & 1Mb Up uncontended broadband. Is this over kill for 6 users of basic internet use and 6 VoIP calls (everyone at once) im concerned with voice call quality, I will be using all Linksys equipment with QoS enabled on all hardware.

How does the SPA9000 interpred the ddi's and pass them on to the extension? can it do this in the dial plan?

I really appreciate any info to the questions i have asked

If anyone has strong experience in the setting up of SPA9000 system in an Irish environment please PM.

    Regards
    Senan

You'll be doing very well to get 6 calls over a 1mb connection, remember VOIP uses the same up & down, have a look at http://asteriskguru.com/tools/bandwidth_calculator.php to get an idea of bandwidth needed.

If your porting your number then your VOIP provider will tell you what DDI's are passing thorugh, if your with eircom then its the last 4 digits of your number. e.g. 018456695 DDI = 6695

The SPA9000 should have a web interface you can setup DDI's etc... Just research it for reviews etc...

Best VOIP provider personally 50/50 blueface/freespeech have you looked into asterisk at all?

    Good luck

    Hi Senan,

Regarding number porting you should have a look at that:http://www.blueface.ie/downloads/porting.pdf

Otherwise, Blueface has just released new business packages that may be of an interest to you.

I have a SP9000 with a few SPA942 phones. The basic setup is very simple, but to do some more stuff like setting up DDI is more complicated, with limited documentation.

I'd recommend talking to the VOIP providers first, to see what way they implement DDI. They have probaly tested the SPA9000 and are more familiar with its setup and what it's capable of.

I have only dealt with Blueface (try putting your post on their forum), and I find their support excellent, a forum post is always replied to very promptly.
