Change of champ livens everything up and opens the door for other fighters too-all good, plus chuck will be back hungrier than ever.

Rush Boxing club and Rush Martial Arts head coach.

Was happy meself too. Not a big fan of Chuck. Shogun has a 2 fight contract with UFC, so they may rematch him with Rampage.

I'm so pleased that Rampage has displaced Chuck.

    He'll be a great champ.

Im upset that chuck lost but as he said it was a mistake and if past events are anything to go by then he will be back stronger than ever, although i am happy for rampage,he has a lot of character and even in post fight press conference they showed a lot of respect for each other which i think shows a lot for a fighter.

Change is good and UFC is now really hotting up,I hope to see Chuck back at his best soon and it will be interesting to see how Rampage pans out as champ

Ill hang my neck out and say Rampage by KO round 3. Quinton is no fool and I lived in a gym with him for 3 months. He will train his ass of for this and anyone who saw the Pride fight, he handed Chucks ass to him on a plate.

Can't, shouldn't oh **** what the hell I told you so! There needed to get that off my chest. Never really been a fan of Chucks. He is a stand up guy who has been riding his luck in the UFC. Randy spanked him the first time on the feet, but he has never ever tried to win a fight by upping his ground game. His gameplan of stall on the ground until stood back up, or get back up as quick as he can, points to a one well two dimensional fighter, happy on the feet or in clinch but no ground game. Yes he wrestled in college, and yes I admire his pinpoint accuracy on the feet but he has to work on his ground game to be called a well rounded fighter. He is another version of Crocop and Gonzaga the "grappler" sorted him out. At least Wanderlai is roughly purple / brown on the ground and not afraid to mix it up down there.and yes i know he has a black belt but Im going on people of have rolled with him.

Having trained and lived at Next Gen with Quinton for a summer and knowing where he came from, I am delighted for him. He had no stand up when I first met him, awesome wrestling from his time in high school and a natural athleticism but worked damn hard on his stand up and even fought K1 rules. An absolute legend in front of a microphone and a real character for the sport. I hope he is around for a long time with the belt.

Good fight, nice shot on the button to send Chuck down. Shame it didn't last longer though.

    damn!!!!!
Chuck was gutted when he lost.Hopefully he will come back as a better and stronger fighter and take that title once again...
It was a good ppv overall except for the main event:(

Might aswell join in the "I was right everyone else sucks" party.
Here's my reading of the fight:

Chuck's strength lies in his hands. He's an excellent puncher. Rampage has shown that he has good punching defence (most of his last Wand fight for example) but can leave himself open to a good knee-er. I don't think Chuck is a particularily good from a thai clinch and certainly no better than the calibre that Rampage is used to. Therefore I can see this fight being a long one. Maybe a decision with even amounts of Chuck doing well standing and Rampage doing effective g n p. This fight could look a lot like Liddell Couture 1.

    Rampage by Decision.

Though admittedly I reckoned it would be a decision rather than a first round KO!!!

Sorry Dave, u got it wrong, it was Round 1!!! :D:D:D

I am delighted that Rampage won, i like Chuck, he's a nice guy but his stand up style is annoying in so far as he relies too much on his chin rather than moving away and blocking punches. Rampages style was always gonna be a problem for him anyway but something made me very happy about seeing Chuck finally punishes for carrying his hands so low.

I agree, hes a two dimensional fighter but the way he stands back up has to be admired when u consider how hard it is to do anyway and two the calibre of people he has done it to.

However the notion that Chuck will come back huungrier etc etc, I just cant see him ever beating Rampage, styles make fights and Rampage is a terrible match up for Chuck, plus he has no fear of him.

One great thing is that now we get to see Henderson vs Rampage which will be an all out war. But the other fight which must well and truly happen now is Liddell vs Wanderlei and to be honest I think that will go down on the feet as well since Wanderlei isnt gonna be able to take him down. Should be a slugfest which would make for an exciting fight also. the future is fresh, finally we can get outta the rematch tend!

Funny thing was at the press conference Chuck said it'll end in the first by knockout, and Rampage respnded with "If he wants to get knocked out in the first round then thats his business!" Pure gold from Quinton and Im delighted that a charismatic champ has braced the UFC (along with Serra I guess).

By the way Dave, hows Rampage's jits?!

This really has been a year of upsets in UFC.
    First GSP now liddell
    Will Couture fall next
I'm gonna stick my neck out and say yes
Gonzage looked the bees wax against cro cop

Both i also reckon that both GSP and Liddell will regain their titles
They are too classy not to get another shot

This Pride takeover has madee MMA so great, bring on henderson next
I reckon he will beat rampage and then we will see chuck vs henderson
A fight that will be fantastic

Lots of ifs and buts there
    Hope it happens though

Its not just in UFC man, MMA in general. Sokudjouru over Rogerio and Arona. Nick Diaz over Gomi.

However I dont consider this to be an upset. Rampage whipped his ass once before and there was nothing in the skillsets to suggests part 2 was gonna be different.

Gonzaga is a bad matchup stylistically for Randy but I still am gonna go with Randy to do it. I can see Randy Ground and Pounding his way through this. Gabe has great BJJ but this is MMA not BJJ and I have to think that Randy will wear him down, especially since Gonzaga has gassed in the past. I dont see Liddell getting the belt back anytime soon, Rampage is fighting henderson next and even so I think Rampage has his number, and Chucks gonna fight Wandy next so itll be a while before a rematch even comes along.

Well most people considered this an upset
The bookies and most forums had chuck favourite before the start
I heard a Dana white interview he reckons chuck will have a few fights before a title shot, but I would expect him to win and get that shot

Do you think Hughes will beat serra ?

I reckon he will and we should see a GSP (if he beats koscheck, which he will) vs Hughes fight sometime soon

Any rumours of UFC in Dublin, I hear UFC have set up an office in the UK in order to push ahead with more European events

Id love for Serra to beat Hughes but i dunno, I reckon Hughes will be a bit too strong for him. I mean Hughes walks around at about 195 or so while serra is a natural 155lber. What u think? Serra has heavy hands and a good ground game but one thing Ive noticed is while hes slick on the ground he doesnt seem to finish a lot of his subs.

GSP - Kos is one where i pray that Kos doesnt bore out a horrible lay and pray decision cos hes some wrestler! GSP should take it overall though, he has more tools.

If there are I havent heard of any, I did hear that they wanted UFC 72 in Dublin originally but were having problems findin a venue so they settled for Belfast.

I read the interview with the guy who's in charge of UFCUK, guy with a croatian name and he was saying that they are looking to hit the UK a few times a year so hopefully theyll come to Dublin. I do know that theyre in London in september and Mirko and Bisbing are on the card, should be good!

That was a good event. The Starnes - Leben fight was great and so was the Jardine - Alexander one.
Then the main event - wow! I know it was short but I was never so excited before during and after a fight as that one. Didn't care who won as long as there was a KO.
And Henderson is next. The UFC are really pulling out all the stops. If only there was a few more big names for Belfast.

was great to see rampage win, hes been on a bad run since he got owned by wanderlei the second time, but i always thought he was gonna beat chuck again if he came in in good shape as he did destroy him first time
dont see the point in rampage-chuck again in the near future, its 2-0 rampage. they should make up more fights from all the pride guys
apparently chuck-silva is next for him, and henderson-rampage will be a good one
cant wait for shogun to arrive too

Great show, I enjoyed all the fights. Before the main event, I saw it was 12.45 and thought 'ah crap, chuck KO round 2', I was glad of the surprise. Houston Alexander was great, what a knockout. Jardine deserved it for saying he was annoyed at having to fight him, he got too big for his boots.

Din Thomas is excellent, I was really impressed

I do think that Hughes will beat Serra, Did you see that smile on his face when they showed him on tv after Serra beat GSP
That was the smile of a guy that knew he will be champ again
But not for long I would expect GSP to hand him his @$$ again

Please Dana bring Fedor to UFC !!!!!!!

Serra wont be an easy match for Hughes. Serra dropped Karo and KO'd GSP, while Hughes has pretty abysmal stand up when u consider that hes a professional fighter.

On the ground Serra is a better submission guy than Hughes BUT Hughes is a better wrestler and has a strength advantage which will obviously be a factor. Couple that in with the fact that Serra technically could be 155 while Hughes could fight at 185......well the odds are with Hughes. But i would not count Serra out, not for a second. remember this, nobody gave him a prayer against GSP and he beat the crap outta GSP worse than BJ did in round 1
