Evil egg (not for the faint hearted)

Ok, so i was making scrambled eggs earlier and cracked open an egg to find the whole white of the egg was just full of blood, and not the kind where you sometimes find a little blood patch.. it was more like something out of the Omen or something. I completely freaked and after a few minutes of my boyfriend calming me down, i decided to go take a peek inside it....The yolk looked kind of deformed and it was also red with orange bits
I hope i haven't put anyone off eggs...anyway, ultimately my question is, has anyone else gotten something like this?? I don't honestly think i'll be able to crack open another egg again.

Any feedback and info would be appreciated because i'm seriously stunned.

I threw a bath bomb (from Lush) into the bath last week and there was a teabag inside! Obviously different but still weird. Glad it wasn't blood though!

I'm guessing this video was made in the event of an Omen egg ever occurring .... Although strangely, it's charming enough to actually work :D

    unfortunately, yes.

i worked at a creperie and made litres and litres of batter a day. one day i cracked an egg in and i got exactly what happened to you. it was well gross. *gag*

definately freaked out a little and it gave me the shivers for the rest of the day.

It's made me want to go boil half a dozen.

I,ve seen the odd blood spot on a yoke now and again but nothing like what you described.

Someone in boarding school got a boiled egg (big treat!) and cracked it open and a dead chick's head *flopped* out.

*delights at how much he's likely to upset some people*

Its a foetus! Thats right, the reason you got an egg full of blood was because they was a live chicken desperately trying to grow inside and you cracked it open to the world.

    Yum!

    Anyone ever heard of Balut?

That is truly sickning, and makes your bloody yolk sound like a piece of cake tbh.

    Bleuch!

I really wish I had the strength to be a vegitarian so I could comfortably call that monstrous.

I've had exactly the same thing but in my case the egg was one from a friends chickens. We always buy our eggs from him (chicken rearing is the fastest growing hobby in the UK!) and this has only happened once. We didn't eat that egg. Gross indeed but not enough to put me off.

I've also gotten an egg with brown albumin. Gross again!!

Be sure to visit iloveegg.co.uk for lots of egg related episodes... the ninja one is my favourite.

I noticed you can even get the eggs in a vending machine at Cineworld... I'm going to bring plenty of euro coins with me to the cinema next time.

Ok i'll ask the question are you blonde ?
And was the egg covered in a blue/red and yellow foil rapper ?
I think I can explain the problem :D
How do you eat yours !!!

When i worked as a chef just after college this was quite a common thing. More so with freerange eggs. Well when i say common it would be 1 in every 150-200. which is the normal ammount one person would consume at home in a year. Or maybe more.

How odd in an entertaining sort of way.
This story has put me off eggs however. Luckily, I didnt eat them before anyway, especially not vending machine eggs, unless they are made of creme.
