    Hi,

Anyone got any opinions on RTE's website? I think its excellent. It looks well, is well updated and the live streaming is brilliant and the archiving. The election coverage on it has been first class. I would say its a pity RTE dont put as much effort into their broadcasting as they do on their website. Superb:)

    Any thoughts?

have to admit i reference it alot. particularly good for sourcing figures my weird little brain seem to hang onto because theyre strange and providing proof to back em up (such as the fact 80% of the population earn less than 35k a year. alot of people didnt belive me when i said that till i directed em to the coverage of cowans budget speach in 06 where you clearly here them say 8 out of 10 people are in the 20% tax band. seeing as the most you can earn before leaving that is 35k thats the most they can earn in a year)

i'll admit the new streaming system is an annoyance and occasionaly demand can crash it , im thinking of gormleys and macdowels confrontation in ranelagh here, but over all its a good site to get archived footage and up to date releases from prime time to six one.

oddly enough its a good add to chuck out the telly and forget about the liscence fee :)

I mostly use it for News, but also used it for the election. I preferred the old news navigation.

During the counts (I was in the RDS), the updating was generally quite slow and there were often inaccuracies - the data for one constituency with the graph for another.
