What is the best brand of daily contact lenses?

I've only ever used Focus Dailies which I find to be pretty good except I can never tell if they are inside out and they can get a bit uncomfortable after the 11 hour mark, my friend raves about Acuvue lenses, I was just wondering should I stick with Focus Dailies or should I try something another brand?

Also what's the best site for buying lenses from, at the moment I use Aclens.com.

Edit/ one more thing the prescription the optician gave me was for focus dailies with a base curve 8.6 and diameter 13.8, is this the size of my eye or the contact lense? Because on aclens.com you can only select acuvue lenses with a base curve of 8.5 or 9.0 and a diameter of 14.2.

    Thanks

The lens you get in spec-savers can be easily identified as to whether they are inside or outside.

As regards comfort, well, shop around until you find lens that suit you. On boards people will tell you that this and that are comfortable, but we all got different eye shape/size/moistnesss...

ask your optician about that.. /edit don't take advice from anyone else except an optician about that/
thats maybe why your on focus dailies??

OP my lenses are the same measurments and i can either wear Baush and Lomb or Focus Dailies (focus dailies are more comfortable imo) - thats all the fits. Specsavers lenses are rebranded b&l or focus dailies.. Have you tried drops to refresh the lenses - boots do Blink ones which are really good..

    Thanks guys.

I actually have little complaints with the focus dailies, I was just wondering if there was better out there. I was told by my optician that I wouldn't need drops with focus dailies, but I ordered some drops from aclens anyway and they make the world of difference. My only gripe with focus dailies is I can't tell if they are inside out, regardless I have perfect vision but after a couple of hours I feel a slight discomfort if they are inside out.

There is a thread about cheap contact lenses in Bargain Alerts. The cheapest Focus Dailies are from www.yourlenses.ie - about 73 euro for a 3 month supply (2*90 packs) including shipping. Most other Irish companies sell the same thing for 90 quid ....

Edit: Oh sorry Unregd, didn't realise you already recommended these guys!

I've tried a few different brands. After about 6 hours, they'd start drying up and I'd have to rub my eyes. Started with the new Acuvue Advance and they THE best lenses I've had. I actually can't feel them in my eyes at all. I tested them to how long it would take until they felt dry. I wore them all day, all night and all the next day and I still could have kept going. I've read that they can be wore for day and night for up to a week.

It works out at e73 (e61 + e12 shipping) for 2 boxes of 90 focus dailies on www.aclens.com 98cents cheaper than www.yourlenses.ie I didn't check any other brands

The optician showed me how, but it was such a ludicrous way of doing it that I have never been able to put it into practice. If they are inside out usually the vision through that eye is not quite as sharp as the other, a very slight blur might occur around certain objects and a minor discomfort, kind of a dry feel. But its hardly noticeable tbh.

Seconded. Those lenses are the ****ing shiz. Best I've ever tried.

You kinda learn after a while. When they're sitting on the tip of your finger, if you pinch them and they roll inwards easily, they're the right way around. If they go back to normal shape straight away, they're the wrong way around. Obviously, one must take into account the weight/stiffness of the lens material.

Edit: Does anyone know how long you can stretch a set of 2-week lenses before you HAVE to throw them away? I use peroxide no-rub solution, and regularly keep mine for 4-5 weeks..SO FAR, I haven't gone blind..
