Hello ,I was needing some advice for parts for a new dell I bought ,
I'm not a gamer ,but I'll probably buy a couple during the life of the card.
Basically I don't know much about various ram's and graphics cards ,
I was on crucial and used their system scanner to recommend them ,
    Heres what came up

    2GB kit (1GBx2), 240-pin DIMM, DDR2 PC2-5300 memory module
CT607737€64.99 ex. VAT €76.36 inc. VAT*
    Module Size: 2GB kit (1GBx2)
    Package: 240-pin DIMM
    Feature: DDR2 PC2-5300
    Specs: DDR2 PC2-5300 • CL=5 • UNBUFFERED • NON-ECC • DDR2-667 • 1.8V • 128Meg x 64

Crucial Radeon X1300 PRO 256MB PCI Express
    CT607738€58.99 ex. VAT
    €69.31 inc. VAT*

I've used them before for flash cards, laptop memory and they charge €7 for tracked Ups.

Yeah that's looks reasonable the Crucial RAM should have no trouble in the system, I assume 1GB is already present in it.

The graphics card is a functional but basic one it will run some older 3D games & some newer stuff in lowest detail modes.

I put the order in ,would changing it to the 1600 model make much difference?
I would change it if it did.

Edit :forgot to mention ,the reason I went for the 1300 was I thought the dell wouldn't have enough power for it.

The X1600 is a bit better yes but dont pay too much should be €80 or so.

It probably wouldn't make any difference at all in the vista envoirnment ,if it's an x1300 or x1600 then.
It's really more of a booster for vista than a gaming upgrade ,as long as I can play the odd game.

    Thanks,
    Brian
