I'd like to get a camper van as well as my day to day hatchback.

Is it possible to get a policy that covers me for any vehicle with a motor on the one deal without having to pay double policies?

Have a weather station?, why not join the Ireland Weather Network - http://irelandweather.eu/

Most insurance companies shy away from insuring campers (for whatever reason?)

Specialist camper insurance policies on the other hand are usually quite good (with cover for extras, awnings, contents, etc) and available for about 350 euro per year, so not that expensive.

One prerequisite for camper insurance is though that you have another insured vehicle for day to day use ...ie two policies.

Generally no but you may be able to persuade them to take you on

I think St Paul do something like this. Search the threads as I'm certain this came up before and people provided links of where to go to get the info.
