partition in the way

    I recently got an old hard drive out of somebdy else's computer ,my intention is to use it for just basic storage it 40 gigs but its been partition and appears as two seperate hardrives on my comp, was wondering could any tell me how to to format it and merge the to partitions?

    control panel >administrative tools > computer management > disc management

    find the volume you want then click on the partitions and right click and delete do that to both of them , them click on the raw space and right click and partition make it ntfs and make the partition size as big as the raw space left :D

    jsut tried it but when i got to the delete option it was faded out, the options there but it wo nt let me touch it:mad:

    looks like it could help, but i think im going to wait until moring before i make a boot disk,itll be much easier awake.

    it was the virtual memory that was causing the problem, i just had to reset it
