registry cleaner

    Hi, can anyone recommend a good/effective registry cleaner type thing?my pc is running insanely slow and is driving me insane at this stage, cant afford to ditch and upgrade at the mo. Any suggestions? i'm running xp pro on an amd xp1700 5 year old piece of junk...

    Registry Mechanic is one of the best if you wish to pay for a program.

    CCleaner is free and pretty solid.

    TuneUp Utilities is pretty good like that poster said.

    WinASO registry optimizer is also quite good, but not free.

    many thanks guys, i did install ccleaner which didnt make any difference but i think now thats its an issue with the motherboard, its a piece of ****e with integrated sound/graphics which i can no longer get new drivers for. Its gotta go, thanks again for all help.
