I'm a 5th year student heading there Sunday week for 3 weeks. Haven't been to a Gaeltacht befroe but in dire need of polishing up on my Gaeilge.

Anyone got any information on this place, or better yet is anyone going for June?

Haven't been there, but I had a great time in Kerry, you should have a good three weeks.

    Hey,
My wife is from Gweedore and i visit regurlarly. I love it there and there is loads to do, good nightclub (Millennium Nightclub in Seaview Hotel), GAA, loads of bars and tonns of girls!!
Depending on exactly where in Gaoth Dobhair you are staying you should be only a walk to most things too.
    Enjoy,
    M

Bars, nightclubs? Good suggestions for someone who has got their Leaving Cert done, but for a 5th year on a language and culture camp?... try not to send the fella astray:p

Gaeltachts (for minors at least) tend to avoid alcohol/sex for well legal reasons. Voltwad don't expect to actually need condoms. However the following are usefull:

    jacket
    clothes
    clothes etc for the disco!
    toothbrush
    towel
    shorts
    pen paper (for numbers!)

my bad, hadnt picked up on the fact that it was a minor, i dont condone underage drinking!! But on a good note they have many underage discos and officially organised outings, dances etc..
Note, there are many adults who go to these gaeltachts also and thats what i thought it was here :)
