Recently got rid of someone out of my life that I have no interest in being reminded of again.

However on both Yahoo and MSN Messenger their log in name is saved. I've deleted both programs and downloaded and reinstalled them agian but the names are still there.

Anyone know how I can go about getting rid of these log-ins?

on the PC version of Yahoo messanger you right click the username and select delete. I'm sure there is something similar on the mac?

Hold down control and hit the mouse on the user. You should have an option to delete. im not on a mac now but i think thats how to do it.

Sorry - didn't word that very well. What I meant is that they were often using my computer and now when I load the program, but before I log in, their login name is saved there and I can't get rid of it.

Try deleting the prefs for both apps. Use spotlight to search for "yahoo plist" and "msn plist".

And (if you don't already know about it) you should probably use Adium for instant messaging. Great little app, although it doesn't support certain yahoo/msn features. But it saves having to have two IM apps open.
