Just wondering if anyone had some ideas on places to head out both for day and night in limerick. Actually never been there before and heading for two nights with one of the girls just to get out of dublin for a change. Don't want ot waste too much time wandering around different pubs and clubs so if anyone knows the hot spots that'd be handy!

in dublin i love the crowd in the quays/temple bar bar/ flannery's/ roddy's................that kinda stuff...as long as i don't have to pretend to be cool!

ideas for day stuff would be handy too!

    Cheers

    LS

    Hi LS,

I'm originally from that neck of the woods. For daytime, I'd recommend heading out to Bunratty Castle ( a few miles out towards Shannon, frequent buses from city) It's a great castle, nice folk park there showing how people lived a few centuries ago, has great shopping just outside i.e. Avoca, Blarney Woolen mills etc, and next door is the famous Durty Nelly's pub for drink, food and trad music.

For evening time in Limerick city, you could dine in one of Limericks oldest restaurants, Freddys Bistro http://www.freddysbistro.com/. There's also a Luigi Malones also, if you prefer the big buzzy type of place.

For live music, you could try Dolans Warehouse http://www.dolanspub.com/.

    Hope this helps.

    JT.

Nightlife - Head to Denmark Street where you'll find Nancy's and Flannery's (brand new).
Milano's on the Quay's do a great pizza also.
Nightclubs - You can't go wrong with The Trinity Rooms just around the corner from Denmark Street.
