[Req] Pension Co Benchmark Ratings

    Hi All,

    I’m planning to start a pension, but want to avoid starting it with the next “Patrick Gallagher” company. (Patrick Gallagher’s pensions company went bust in the 1980’s due to his wild business practices, leaving many elderly people with no pension)

    Can anyone refer me to some benchmark rating table of pension providers in Ireland that monitors stuff like solvency and business practices. If anyone knows how to interpret a rating factor to make a good decision, that will also be welcome.

    Most of the large Life Assurance companies in Ireland are rated by moodys / Standards & Poor etc, so they are the kind of things to look out for when picking a pension provider.
    Perhaps you should seek Professional Advise with regard to your pension needs.
