I need some passport photos. I take them with a webcam and print them out on some glossy photo paper to the right size and then cut them up.

Will these be accepted for a passport, driving license or age card?

I dont think so, passport picture have to be very specific. I could be wrong though! Just make sure its up against a blank white background anyway.

Yeah, they can be terribly fussy at the passport office with regards having correct photos not sure about the other places.

Google for the guidelines. As far as I know, you need a flash.

If you get a passport application form it will give a sheet with all the guidelines for the passport photo standards... with all the do's and dont's

They imprint the image into material of the passport now, so they have a lot of very precise requirements.

It's probably worth your while forking out the €6 to use a machine, the new digital ones will ask if you are happy with the photo before printing it out.

photo booth photos probably wont be sufficient for a passport anymore. When I was renewing my passport last year I had to pay 12 quid for photos as they need to be very specific for the new passports. Loads of people are being turned away for not having the correct photos. I'm sure photo booth photos will still be grand for driving license or age card, but passport is a no no.

As long as you follow the guidelines you're fine.

A lot of chemists use a proper camera set up but the staff haven't a clue and some of the crap of I've seen people coming out with is ridiculous.. they're usually badly cropped.
