Help me with my Camera Woes!

    Hello everyone,

I call to you all in an hour of need. I fear that my camera is fu(ked.

It's a Fujifilm f401. It has worked properly for ages now and just there now I found that the camera doesn't work properly now.

I'll give you an example right now, http://s53.photobucket.com/albums/g68/im___LOST/?action=view&current=DSCF0008.jpg

This image is of a grey wardrobe with a window beside it.

It looks like it inverts the colours or something but I'm not sure what is happening. The lens is clean and I didn't drop it or anything.

It seems to be something wrong with the lense but I would just like a second opinion from you guys.

Please, any input at all is appreciated.

According to the EXIF data in the file, you've got White balance set to 'Manual' .. that could be screwing things up. Try setting it to 'Auto' and see if that helps any.

The white balance is at auto. I have not touched any of the setting since it has been working properly.

I've even tried formatting the card but to no avail.

I mean, it's very strange that it would just "go" like that. I didn't hit it or drop it or anything....

i used to work in the camera repair section of a major dublin camera shop, we saw loads of that exact problem, estimate on having the sensor assembly replaced would be approx €180-€220

so i'm pretty sure, unless it's under warantee, you'd be better off buying a brand new camera

Looks good to me, have you tried selling them for €€€€? Could be on a winner.

Yeah, by the looks of things there's a whole pile more wrong than just your white balance ! Is it still under warranty ?

They were all taken on auto so it's strange that it says that in the EXIF data.

lol. They do actually look cool but I would actually like to remember people and scenery as opposed to some random mess.

I doubt that it is tbh.

It is quite old but it was refurbished when I got it. Would that mean it has an extended warranty I wonder...

I'll try to find the box and manuals and stuff.

Thanks for all the help guys, all help is still appreciated. (Someone give me some good news!)

    /edit

    Crap!

I got it about 3 and a half years ago (I was optimistic of the warranty :)) and the warrenty only holds for 12 months.

    :(
