Well Sony have a receiver with 2 HDMI inputs and 1 HDMI out, so you can connect everything through it, and only have one HDMI going to the tv. It upscales on Component.
Though its about €600... i'm getting one!

your kidding yourself looking for a hdmi receiver for that price, you'll be lucky to get a decent optical one for that.

Actually Sony have another model that retails for about €269 with 2 x HDMI in and 1 out. OP at €100 it's most certainly wishful thinking. I'll try and find the model of that Sony unit and post back here.

It's the Sony STRDG510 which varies in price but is generally around the €269 mark.

Not sure where you'd get it in Dublin for a good price, but you could try the Sony Centre's.

It doesn't do 1080p but unless you have at least a 42" TV and your sitting far away from it, you won't see any improvement.

You do need to buy seperate speakers for it.

HeHe, well that's fair enough, but you can always try these things out instore and judge for yourself. Suffice to say a decent amp/receiver and speakers is an amazing experiance if you've never used anything like it before.

It does indeed have analogue inputs (rca).

To be honest, your wish of getting something good for €100 isn't going to happen. For €100 you'd be limited to a set of computer surround speakers. These are pretty awful to be honest as they lack mid/high range and they try to make up for this by lots of bass.
Also there is no chance at all of digital connectivity especially HDMI and all you'll find on speakers in this range is either rca inputs or 3.5mm stereojack inputs.

Are you willing at all to spend a little more than €100 on a system? If you are we might be able to find you something that will be better than a set of computer speakers!

The Sony Centres around Dublin are all charging around €400 for the above mentioned amp , online is always cheaper of course , but the Sony Centres really take a high mark up.
