now some of you may see this as me trying to defy or upset you but this could not be further than the truth.

    the m700 pictured above
a rifle over the 1 J mark, the gun in question is the M700 capable of
    ''Gas Powered Airsoft Sniper Rifle
    - Weight: 7.5 Lbs
    - Velocity: 500-550 Fps w/ 0.2 g
    - Adjustable Hop Up
    - Real Bolt Action
    - Awesome Speed!
    - Capacity: 11 rounds
    - Rifle Scope, Bullets, Rifle Bag Not Included
    - Tanaka M700 Clone''

this is far superior to the MP001 that I intend on getting and I will hopefully find someone to license it too.
to the moderator that locked the threads I never said ''I am going to break the law if you like it or not''.

I do indeed intend on trying to get a license for the airsoft gun, I was simply saying that in my experience the police seem rather carefree when it comes to this sort of thing, but I take your anecdote about your friend who got his confiscated seriously...not everyone in the police force is as carefree as they are in the north east.

as a matter of interest would it be rude of me to ask who here has a license for their airsoft equipment?
and also what sort of rules do you guys adhere to when you meet up for mock wars?

The thread you posted this in is just for people to post pictures of their stuff. No discussion is allowed. This is so we stay strictly on top and end up with a thread full of lovely pictures ;)

Now, I thought Id move your post here rather then delete it as it concerns an issue that keeps popping up.

You are right, you can own an upgraded bolt action airsoft rifle if you have a license for it.

HOWEVER. If you are going to import a firearm, it needs to be licensed first. If it is not, then you are illegally importing a firearm.

Whether or not you could shoot someone with it is debatable. It is technically a firearm. Can people legally consent to being shot with a firearm? If not, what legal issues are you opening up?

Now the last issue. As you may have noticed, I have said "firearm" four times already. Something airsoft needs to distance itself from. To achieve this, I have asked people not to discuss firearms in here. Even including a piece about it in the forum charter.

Talking about such bolt action airsoft rifles just blurs the lines. That is why I locked your thread. That is why I ask for limited to no discussion about them. Until we have the issue resolved, its just a no no.
