Cleared cach, cookies etc (FF btw) and it still does it.

I changed it to be english in the preferences so its not such a problem but waht i want to know is why all of a sudden am i ending up on google.de when searching?

there was a topic exactly like this a month ago, sorry cant remember exactly where. As far as I know it wasn't a spyware issue. Best bet is to do a search for the topic.

Are you searching through the search engine bar in firefox? Because the odd time when i search through there i end up at google.de

do you use a one way sat system such as SKYDSL
if you do then international sites will default .de instead of .ie

    Happens me sometimes too :/

    very strange

It only seems to happen when the firefox start goole is your homepage.... so set your homepage to goolge.ie and it should be all good

I've had this issue since a few weeks FF 2004 with search bar right of the URL field
My primary and secondary DNS are both ***.dublin.eircom.net so I should be directed to ie but noooo...

Strange thing is, IE6 has a google search bar that goes to .ie, whereas FF goes to .de.

When I VPN into work FF search bar will then go to .ie

Therefore I think it's a setting in FF somewhere that's fecked. But then only my laptop should be affected. Weird...

I also had this issue a while back and had it on all the computers in the house. I think it's definitely DNS related whether at Firefox or Eircom...

Yeah i have this issue too. It only happens when i use the google built into FF. If i type in the url its fine. Weird. kind of annoyin too cuz its handy to use the built in one.

This is definately some DNS craziness on sites that attempt to determine your locaton by IP. I just had a fresh iTunes installation throw me to the German store by default now.

I had to remove FF2004 because Stealther add on fecked up my system big time. After reinstalling FF it's still .de.
    Crazy.

biko it's DNS problems not Firefox though you can alter the search engine for firefox to redirect to google.com using mycroft. I used to have this problem but it went away some time ago looks like it's still lingering for some folks.

It's been fine now for a day or two in FF.
.ie is now standard for me again, phew.
