Copywriting start

    Hey,
Working as a freelancer in the journalism sector right now, doing ok and would like to keep at it and get a staff job eventually. But would like to make some extra money if possible and one of my friends reckoned copywriting of some description would be a possibility, given the fact Im already writing and could do it from home. Im not entirely sure how the industry works however and if this is really a goer at all, would consider myself creative and fairly good at coming up with ideas/catchy words and descriptions but at the same time I dont want to give over too much time and effort to what is essentially just a way to earn some extra cash.
Is there a possibility of this working out and how would I go about starting off?
    Appreciate any help, thanks..
