    ok
i've 2 hard drives in my htpc
one is an eighty gig ide drive which contains the os (winmce)
the other is an empty brand new 250 gig sata drive
i want to get rid of the old drive altogether and just run the rig with the 250 gig drive? how do i move the boot image and contents of the 80 gig ide to the sata drive and make then that my boot drive?

You will need to move your Master Boot Record aswell so a simple copy paste wont work!!!:

Basically you can create an image of ur 80 and "copy" it onto the 250 using something like Ghost Image Software - google it.
Not that difficult to use, you will need to make a boot disk.

Or the long/painfull reinstall of Windows onto your new 250.

Just remember to swop the HDD cables around or change the 250 to the master drive.

Ghost your old drive onto your new drive, plug out your old drive and leave everything else as it, whether or not the hard disk is on a slave cable wont matter once its the only hard drive in there.

Ghost is your best option and if you have access to a floppy on the media center i can send you a floppy disk which will have the new disk up and running in about 20mins to 30mins. Very easy thing you're doing and wont take long

why do i need the floppy drivers?
once i ghost across the image and remove the ide drive won't the pc boot from the new drive?
    can you email those files?
