Can anyone recommend any tennis clubs around Dublin with reasonable membership rates? Trying to get back into the game having not picked up a racket in around 7 or 8 years! Have had a look at some clubs and the rates seem pretty ludicrous. Any help appreciated.

What part of Dublin are you in?

How far are you willing to travel?

Based in Sandyford but working in Maynooth so can take in all of Dublin pretty much. Anywhere within 30 - 45 mins away driving would be ok.

    Any suggestions?

Ah, I'd have suggested Leixlip Tennis Club if you were living nearby. It's close to Maynooth, but maybe too far from Sandyford.

Their rates are quite reasonable. They're undergoing some redevelopment at the moment and should have six new all weather courts soon.

They're a small, but very friendly and quite active club.

Thanks - will have a look at them anyway. Where abouts in Leixlip is it based? Is it close to intel / lidl?

It's almost directly accross the road from Intel.

Leixlip are currently doing up their tennis club and I think it may be out of action for most of the summer. They only had 3 tarmac courts but are changing them to what most other places have (savannah) and are also getting 3 new courts. I'd say it would be a good place to join when its finished.

Well they have big plans for the future and have put a huge amount of work into planning the redevelopment. The courts should be finished by end of July.

Compared to most clubs in the Dublin and North Kildare area their membership prices are also quite reasonable.
