Does anyone know if it is it possible to pay for an extra couple of years to Toyota to extend the 3yr warranty & breakdown cover beyond their manufacturers time period?

Yes, you buy adiditonal Eurocare cover after the 3 years, which covers you for breakdown. Unfortunately you cannot buy extended warranty
