Big Bang and God

    Here is my eight-year-old son's question tonight -
    "Was God there before the Big Bang, or after?"

    "Or is God the Big Bang?" was my question. That made us both laugh and that was it - very satisfying! No answer is sometimes the best. It feels like God just evaporated ;)

    I believe my Catholic mother would answer with a "yes" to all of three questions. (Will ask her today if I'm right.)

    Just for reference have a look at the Agganna Sutta, it is almost a copy of what the Big Bang is.

    Really? Wow. I must re-read it. I always took it at face value to be a political swipe at the prevailing Indian/Hindu Caste system.

    No, we are both right, the Sutras touch on many subjects and it can be difficult to weed out the relevent bits.
