Sorry for this as I know there's been threads on this topic before but there's a few minor scratches on the car I'd like to get cleaned up without going somewhere professional and getting fleeced for the privilege.

I've gathered from my short time on here that it's possible to DIY minor scratches and stuff but any time I look into it it seems quite technical and complicated with stuff about primer and surface coat and yadda yadda yadda.

I'm not talking deep gouges in the paintwork here, just (to my uneducated eye at any rate) surface scratches, although they're fairly noticeable, enough to make me want to do something. Is there an easy to apply wonder product that people have used and would recommend or do I have to go into all that toothpick and layer on layer laborious stuff with buffers and what have you, becuase frankly that frightens the bejeezus out someone like me who barely manages to fill the water sprayer every few months without consulting the manual. My biggest fear is that I'd make it all worse and end up with the thing looking worse than before.

If all else fails, isn't there someone in Dublin who specialises in this kid of thing? Anyone used him and is he pricey?

Halfords do a handy touch-up pen.
Costs 2 or 3euros so super cheap!!!!

Just bring along ur cars colour code, it'll be printed on the VIN Plate..... They'll make the colour up infront of ya :D

I'm afraid if you want a permanent solution, its touch-up paint and some scratch remover. Best left to the pros though if you feel you are not well versed with same.

Otherwise you can always just touch up with those lipstick like coloured wax pens, their a bit naff I know and will only last a short while before needing to be retreated.
