I just picked this is up to use with my xbox 360 since msn messenger is now a feature of that. Just plugged it straight in and started typing. Haven't bothered with the mouse yet, probably won't bother at all since I'll be using this with the xbox.

Range seems ok. Going about 4 metres to the other end of the room and it still works fine.

€19.99, says it's marked down from €41.99. Haven't seen cheaper on sites like Komplett, plus you have to pay extra for shipping on them.

is it rechargeable, not great value if you have to buy duracels or a charger and batteries

I have yet to come across a wireless mouse and keyboard that does not last 6 months to a year without replacment of batteries.. how is that not good value especially when rechargables are so cheap?

Yes i agree chargers are cheap (actually ordered them last night). I bought a new pc with wireless HP keyboard and mouse around 2 and a half wks ago and there is an on-screen reminder already telling me to change the mouse battery :( is there a way to turn them off and save the battery life? sry for going a little off thread.

Thats odd... i have only every used Logitech or Microsoft stuff so im not sure but any of those last close to a year. The mouse should go off after a few mins of no activity to save battery life too! My latest mouse/keyboard is the microsoft 1000 deal viking did where you get it for free when buying 3 laminating pouches :D Got that months ago and still using the batteries supplied.

Does anyone know if this will work with a PS3 ?

I got one of the Aldi ones last week but the thing only has about 1.5m range :( and the mouse part has a ps2? type connector rather that Usb

What type of connector is on the receiver part of the tesco one ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,211 ✭✭✭Royale with Cheese

The receiver is usb, and there's only one receiver for both mouse + keyboard.

There's nothing official about the range but I moved about 3-4 metres away and it was still typing fine. I don't know about the range of the mouse as I haven't bothered with that yet.

I can't be sure if it'll work with a ps3 but it works with a 360 so there's a good chance it will.

    I got one today.

It works okay... but the keyboard is horribly cheap feeling.

They've also a Labtec one for the same price, it looks a lot better. I think it's this one: http://www.labtec.com/index.cfm/gear/details/EUR/EN,crid=28,contentid=711

It uses PS2 connection for anyone who needs that. Also PS2 is handy if you've limited USB connectors, because it frees up one/two USB connectors. PS2 is usually not available on laptops though.
