Overplaying AA ?

    Hi Folks

    Two live hands from the SE that have been bugging me for a while....

    Hand 1 - Live €50 PLHE
    =============================

    I'm UTG+2.
    UTG makes it 5 blind
    UTG +1 makes it 15
    I make it 45 with AA and its folded around to UTG+1 who calls.

    Flop is something like 8high rainbow. (€98)
    UTG+1 Leads for 55. (€153)
    I make it 150.
    UTG+1 eventually folds showing JJ and the usual patting the table ensues with nice bet comments from players not in the hand e.t.c.

    I guess I just felt I could have played this more profitably. Opinions please ?

    Hand 2 - SE 100 Freezeout
    =============================

    1st level, blinds 25/50 stacks pretty much intact allround.

    I find AA UTG and make it 225 to go.
    3 callers and button (LAG) makes it 1,000.
    SB/BB fold. Pot (1,975)

    I think for a while and re-raise to 4,000.
    All fold to button who hollywoods it for a while and folds TT face up.

    So, I pick up a decent pot at this early stage but once again feel I probably could have played it more profitably. Opinions please ?

    Of course, I'm always happy to be making money with AA but am I being too protective ?

    shouldnt include results.

    Hand1: What are the stacks? He generally has what he shows here, so I would just call the flop. You give him room to get away from it on the flop. Dont show your hand tho!

    Hand2: What are the stacks? Seems fine tho. Picking up 2k uncontested is lovely, i assume stacks are around 7k.

    Unless you think he could have some kind of draw you could definitely flat call the flop especially with position in the first one.

    Hand 2 is fine.

    Don't think it matters in the context of my question tbh, but point taken.

    Don't recall exact stack sizes but we were both circa 200BB's.

    I didn't show my hand.

    Yeah, 7k stacks. It was only the 4th or 5th hand of level 1, no major action up to that point.

    Thanks for the feedback.

    Hand 1 - Any reason not to raise pot preflop?

    you have to include stack sizes when posting these type of hands, its ESSENTIAL information

    I would generally just call the flop in #1

    In #2, if there were no callers in between us I would call because stacks are great for a crai on most flops and we can even slowplay postflop. As is, I dont like your bet sizing of the 4 bet. You represent so much strength and he has absolutely no folding equity so he cant 5 bet bluff us. I would make it around 2.5-3k
