So at 9.30am tomorrow we've Paper 1, except in my eagerness to study for Biology 1, I've.. sort of let Biology 2 drift by the wayside.
    Any tips for tomorrow?

A lot of people have been saying that Aine Kelly is setting a question in section C and it's likely to be the heart or something to do with the cardiovascular system, so it'd be well worth going over it. Wasn't the paper today a bitch? And which Jean are you, do I know you? I'm Ailbhe, I have blonde hair and I often wear a green coat, though not so much recently cos it's been warmer :)

*is rather glad to be exempt*

And yes, today's paper was The Suck. Hello, supplementals.

Didnt think the paper 2day was all that bad but tomorrow's going to be a bitch although it seems we're all in the same boat in that respect. I haven't actually learned anything really so it'll be case of serious waffling and the odd piece of info thrown in

today's paper was..i dunno? i was really happy coming out of it, then realised a lot of my answers were a load of crap. signal transduction was a poo question this year, totally poo. no idea what the proteins question actually meant either.

so yeh..bio 2. all nighter? yes.

    all nighter? yes.

Careful now! Get some sleep. You risk burnout with all nighters.

Yeah, Aine Kelly wasn't on last year's paper, so I assume she'll be there this year. Had KINDA expected respiration, as her last question was about cardiovascular..
But I'll go over cardio just in case!

Gotta say, the oxidative phosphorylation question was a right kick in the (hypothetical) balls as I was practically talking about the freakin' complexes in my SLEEP.
That tyrosine kinase question in section a - I just wrote the same stuff that I wrote for Tom O' Connor's question in section c on receptors.. I'm SURE it was more difficult than that though? What else should I have been putting in there?!

And I'm.. Jean.. I have glasses. I did go to CTYI. And I can never remember which Alibhe is fishie and which one is.. goodbody? Or Hayes?! Or.. something?! I've just confused myself now!

I'm Ms Goodbody, Ailbhe Hayes has brown hair and (sometimes) glasses and is in pharmacy, though they did share some lectures with us last year so it's probably not hard to get us mixed up! You were in CTYI? At the same time as me? God, I'm so awful at names, I don't remember there being a Jean... What's your third subject, do you do Chemistry or Geology or what? Geology is my other subject. And who are the rest of you - Pet, misefreisin, piby, do I know you guys?
I dunno, just a lot of people have said cardiovascular so I've gone over both of them just in case. I've no tips really for the rest of the paper though, I guess just try to cover everything (though I'm aware iot's a bit late, and I'm going to bed in a minute so I'm not going to look over anything else) I'm just really annoyed about the paper today because it was meant to be my GOOD (relatively anyway) Bio 1 paper, paper 2 was the one with room for disasters but now I'm going to have to do well in paper 2 or it's hello supplementals for me... I wrote so much waffle today it's unbelievable.

Does anyone know if you need a minimum mark to sit the supplementals? Cos if I didn't even do well enough for those it will be quite disastrous!

"Students achieving 40% or higher in each of their subjects are qualified to rise to the JS year. Students who are not qualified but whose overall mark is 35% or higher, either in the Annual or Supplemental Examination, are permitted to repeat SF year.
Students who obtain an average mark of 29% or lower, both in the Annual and Supplemental Examination cannot repeat and MUST withdraw from the degree course in Science"

Basically, you can do however badly you want in the annual, just don't get lower that 29% in the Supps!

I don't think we ever actually met, and if we did, it was in passing.
I'll be wearing a red rose today at the exam.
