Does anyone know if this is possible?

We don't have either and we're investigating getting some new storage and backup solutions.

Xserve as Domain Controller, and a powervault as a storage array (preferrably with Linux/Unix on it).

Xserve RAID would be nice but it's very pricey. Can this be done? Or is there another way to build a non-apple storage array that will work with an Xserve?
