I am looking for a school to enroll my son in when he turns 4 next year in balbriggan. Can anyone advise me which schools are the best, whether there is waiting lists and when he should be enrolled.

    Hi Jake,

Here's a link to the primary schools in Balbriggan.

Your best bet would probably be to give them a ring and see what their policies are regarding enrolment.

Maybe some of the other posters here with children could give you some more info. :)

I have my daughter in Balbriggan Educate Together. They seem to have a relaxed enough approach to education and my daughter certainly enjoys it compared to the other schools I have no idea what it is like so it's hard to say which one is better or worse.

When I say relaxed, it's relaxed compared to what I experienced as a child, I went to the christian brothers. My daughter is learning quite a lot and coming on in leaps and bounds, there's also good after school club.

Weren't there plans... in the vaguest sense of the word... to build another school in the Castlelands are of the 'Briggan? Anyone heard of any definite plans or was this just another way of fobbing off the locals so they build more houses?

Here's the text from the LAP
    4.1 Primary School/ Community Facilities
This LAP proposes to reserve a 3.5-acre primary school site at the eastern end of the Class 1 public open space. This site may also incorporate community facilities. However, given the proposed revisions to urban design within the LAP it is proposed to remove the single storey restriction to allow for a more efficient use of the site.

    4.2 Post Primary School
A site of 11 acres is reserved under the 2002 LAP for a post primary school located to the west of the plan lands and adjoining the Wavin site.
