going blonde

    hey guys, so my hair is dyed black but growing out at the mo cos i did it months and months ago but i really wanna go blonde now and according to hairdressers itll take a good 6months to get it any where near. so just wondering anyone know of a quick and simple way of going blonde that aint too damaging to the hair??

    I'd reccommend listening to the hairdresser, theu deffo know best and I've heard(and seen) waaayy too many stories about people botching it up when trying to switch from dark to light like that!!

    yeah if your hair is dyed black and you want a nice blonde colour I'm afraid you're going to have to let it grow out, or else bleach it which will dry it out and make it look nasty!

    You will end up with red hair for a while! Happens to the best of us...

    Basically, you can only lighten your hair a certain amount at a time. If you have black dye in it, that will compete will the blonde dye, making a weird intermediate colour for a good while. Each time you dye your hair, it gets a bit lighter as the colour builds up, until it's saturated. I would imagine 6 months is a fairly conservative estimate.

    Sorry OP, but there's not much you can do besides strip your hair, which is bad.

    yeah i had my hair dyed black and couldnt dye it lighter til all the black grew out,it takes agessssss to do but well worth it
