Interesting episode. Another testing of Tony's patience and the fued between himself and Philly goes up another notch.

Outstanding acting by Gandolfini in this episode, particularly
when he saves AJ from drowning

It's building up to an all-out war with NY!!!:D That guy Butch really gets on my wick, he's a smug fcuk. The scene where Tony
does an American History X on Coco
was pretty brutal, true Sopranos style!!! Pity he didn't
    pop a cap in Butch
    while he was at it.

It's obvious where the series is heading, but ya gotta think they can't make it that obvious - can they?!

Robert Iler played a great part in this episode as well, especially when he was
crying in Tony's arms after he was pulled from the pool
    .

Only 2 eps left  .....

That was a tremendous epoisode, I thought. So many issues covered. Some fantastic acting too, especially from Gandolfini and Iler. I really don't know how they're gonna end it in just 2 more episodes, though. There's probably enough material left to fill another 4 or 5 episodes. Is the Muslim storyline going anywhere? They've been hinting at it for years now but it's never come to anything. The feds don't seem to be on Tony's back anymore, either. I'm guessing there'll be some kind of a showdown between Phil and T in the next ep, or more than likely in the finale.

No episode on next week, however. :( Entourage isn't on next Sunday either. Any particular reason for this? Is it a holiday in the States or something?

The American History X scene made me actually flinch! All the same Coco was acting quite creepy so I mean surely Tony would get some kind of pass for that? Anyway class episode overall.

I beamed with delight when coco got his just deserts. You dont bring the real family into it and especially not Meadow, but he did say what we all think ;)

very scary scene when AJ was at the pool and the bit after was very moving. great acting. still think it's weird they just got rid of such a huge character in Chris with not too much worry

The scene with AJ in the pool and Tony saving him was harrowing stuff. Kept calling him baby. Pretty emotional.
It seems to be building really slowly. If there's gonna be some kind of war it''ll be crammed in.
I just hope it ends in a way the fans like.

Chris was on the way out for a long time.

Chase gets his personal views across in the show sometimes and I'm glad to see he is getting opinions out there that Americans wouldn't hear about otherwise. Namechecking stuff like Al-Jazeera & earlier in the series Howard Zinn's book deserves credit in my opinion. I can't see the Muslim terrorist angle going anywhere really. Maybe ended with a piece in the news about arrests.

Don't expect the series to end with everything nicely wrapped in a nice little package (I really want to know what happened to the Russian!) either (although having said that things have been resolved one way or another with Chris, Junior, his mother, Janice, therapy which seems to be just an outlet for Tony to let off steam now, the only things that are left New York, AJ and maybe the loyalty of his family has never really been put to the test). I can't see it involving Tony dead or in prison but who knows, maybe the crew will think getting rid of Tony and bowing down to New York is preferable to being killed in a war. Or maybe Chase has some bizarre ending involving the port or the tunnel (Tony gets really worked up about the lack of security) being blown up planned.

If history has taught us anything it's that the most difficult part of making a TV series is how to end it gracefully. TV history is littered with major disappointments and bizarre endings. I hope we won't be let down.

    Good point.
IMHO two series that went out with a bit of class were Star Trek: The next generation. Their ending two parter was way better than any of the Star Trek movies that followed it. And Homicide: Life on the Streets. OK that show lost its way in the last series but redeemed itself with a made-for-TV movie which included every actor who had ever appeared as a detective in the whole show (even the dead ones !).

Back to the Sopranos - where is Artie Bucco, Tony's buddy and restauranteur ?

As has been pointed out Phil Retardo is not really a worthy enemy for Tony in the way that Johnny Sacs was.

Only two eps left after this one, apparently

why "spoilers"?! what is the thread title?!?!

Ah Great episode, CoCo's curb bite in the restuaraunt was great Tony should have shot him and Phillo's funny eyed m8. Great scenes with Tony and AJ, when he pulled him out of the pool and called him his baby was excellent, Tony at the start sounded a bit like Chris when he was going on about taking the drug in vegas. I have a funny feeling Phil is going to take down one of Tony's Cappo's next week and that will spark an all out war, but then again it mightn't.

Like everyone else, I thought the two stand-out scenes where Tony & AJ, and Tony & Coco. He's the best dad in the world! :)

I really don't want Sopranos to end!

You should really use spoilers..... I've seen it, so I'm not bothered, but other people may not have watched it yet

Brilliant episode, I'm becoming obsessed! It's sucking me in completely. 13 days to the next one aaaagh. I don't think I'll ever again see Gandolfini as anything but Tony Soprano again.

Episode before this was the best ever.

Predictions for the end: Tony gets done through those two Agents about the names of the Muslims that he gave them to cover his own ass. There's certainly going to be some sort of power struggle in the next episode.

from the trailor for the next one i predict bobby is going behind his back for 4 reasons

1 it shows bobby protecting himself with some weapon
2 tony is saying help me out here to carmella, she upset probably as she knows bobbys ****ed and his close to them and janet
3 if you watch it frame by frame you see paulie stepping up angrily to bobby
    - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XJuNAr1dUTU
4 you see him running off in some forrest
5 janets in the trailor too
but then again they make that seem kind of obvious..........so it's probably not.

im gonna wait to watch the next one and the last one one after the other as the last ones out only a few days later. gonna be deadly

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,992 ✭✭✭Johnny Storm

    .... gonna be deadly

Heh, heh, heh ... I'm sure it will be, for someone

    Yeah very strange.

Two things ill say. Artie will have something to say in the next two episodes. Agent Harris is not really still working terrorism(or never was). that's what I think.
