Beer Hall in Dublin

    Hi All,
Just thought I'd plug a pub that I think is doing things right.

The Bull and Castle, (formerly the Castle Inn) has now got a great selection of craft beers, including two beers from Cork's Franciscan Well brewery; Blarney Blonde and Rebel Lager, as well as Erdinger Weissbier, Budejovice Budvar, Staropramen and Krombacher, all on tap. They also have a great range of bottled beers, including the excellent Goose Island IPA.

The upstairs has been turned into a Bavarian style beer hall, where you can get a beer in a litre glass, if you like.

A full review of the Bull and Castle can be read here: http://www.irishcraftbrewer.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=57&Itemid=64

    Yeah tis a fantastic spot.
Checked it out last Saturday and I will be coming back.
I only hope it doesn't turn into some tourist trap.

Was there last friday great beer but terrible food. COnsidering they are owned by the FXB Group which includes a farm you would think they could cook a steak to medium, but no it was creamated.

Would go back but only for beers.

That is surprising. I would have sent the steak back. If I say medium, I expect medium.

I had muscles in cream and white wine sauce there a couple of weeks ago and it was delicious.

Last time i was there I had steak cooked to medium and it was delicious. Very tender and juicy, loved it (McArdles was the drink matched i think). The only negitave i might have would be the size of their portions. Little bit small...

I must check this place out the next time I'm in Dublin. Blarney Blonde is gorgeous. :)

A couple of us from the Film Production forum went there to plan our project for the Fast Forward Film Festival about 2 months back and it was very nice... Didn't think much of the food either though.

Not a fan of FXBs myself. Would go out of my way to avoid it.

Good beer, good food. went there with some friends yesterday evening, and the food was spot on.

And anywhere I can get Steins i'm happy.
