I tried a search but couldn't find a relevent answer to my question so apologies if it's been asked before! Can anybody tell me what documentation I need to rent a car in the US? Do I need an IDP or not? Thanks.

If you are u25 check the term and conditions of the rental company in the state you are going to to make sure you can rent a car, you may not be able to or you may have to pay a surcharge.

No need for an IDP, a full Irish one will do.

Thanks that's great. The under 25 bit isn't a problem :p It's cheaper than I thought it would be too.
