    Hi,

I need to get a hot shoe flash for my Eos 350D for mainly inside shots.
Have done a search but nothing pops up ! :D

So, do I get a Canon (220,430,580) or go for a cheaper Sigma.

Just a hobbyist with ocassional indoor shots but am getting annoyed with dark indoor shots.

    thx

    K

I picked up my 580 last week. Very very impressed with it.

I'd say go for it, it's only €350ish, and you'll have a great flash.

If you ever upgrade to a camera without a flash, or get more into photography, you'll have a great flash.

I have a 580 too and find it brilliant for any indoor events.

I have the 430... I got it mainly because of price, but it's great for indoors. Get a diffuser and you're all set

I got a Vivitar flashgun about 8 years ago, when I was poor, but I still use it. It's grand for the basic stuff.

Just a bit off but why dont you get a 50mm f1.8 lens and dont get a flash?

If you're set on a flash, I'd go for the 430ex, the 580 is great and all but if you're a casual shooter then the 430 will have more than enough functionality.

Yep, got mine on Keaphoto on eBay.

Well, if you had set on buying the 430 on Irish prices, then the 580 on HK prices isn't bad at all.

I have the 420EX, and a diffuser, but it does fine for my needs. I'm using a 350d too.

I got a 430 but found that it wasn't suitable for some of the photographs i was taking so eventually got a 580
still i can do multiple wireless flash photography :)

If it's only for ocassional shots the 580 EX would be overkill and a good bit more expensive, if you can get the Speedlight 430 EX at a right price go for that.
