hope this is in the right place if not please move it

i had sky digital installed and the ran the cables over the roof because they said they are not allowed enter the attic so i was hoping to bring the cables into the attic and then in to the rooms as needed my question is should i use new cables or the exsisting ones

If there long enough, use them, sky installers use ct100 or equivelant, try to avoid joining with barrel connectors.

Running cables over the roof isn't the wisest method of cabling, so you're right to try getting the cables through the attic instead.

If you are to buy new cabling, buy CT100, QF100 or equivalent "copper on copper" cable.

    Hi all,
Im getting sky HD installed in two weeks. I've already run a phone line to the back iof my TV so the installer doesnt have to do it.

I was hoping they will be able to use the cable TV cables already installed all over my house. The were installed in 1997 when the house was built. I had a look at the cables and there is nothing written on them so I dont know if they are ct100 or whatever. Do you guys think sky hd will be ok on these old cables? Or will the installer want to install a new cable?

    Thanks for your help
