    BB is 33/16/10 (24)

    Full Tilt Poker
    No Limit Holdem Ring game
    Blinds: $1/$2
    5 players
    Converter

    Stack sizes:
    Hero: $208.70
    CO: $493.15
    Button: $154.35
    SB: $114
    BB: $188.95

    Pre-flop: (5 players) Hero is UTG with K K
Hero raises to $7, 3 folds, BB raises to $17, Hero raises to $55, BB calls.

    Flop: 6 A 6 ($111, 2 players)
    BB checks, Hero checks.

    Turn: 6 ($111, 2 players)
    BB bets $45,...

took this hand from 2+2, was interested in peoples views on betting the flop or not.

is betting the flop so terrible and if so elaborate.

generally is it just easier to bet the flop and take down a smaller pot whereas checking you'll need to make a tougher decision but take down a larger one?

usually id always bet this flop but the replies from this thread have made me think twice, and that this may be a major leak in my game.

    any advice appreciated

the flop is a REALLY easy check because he will fold all worse hands but never fold a better hand. if you bet he will put you on AK. If you check he can bluff you or "value" bet a worse hand.

on the turn its a really easy call. he very rarely has an ace because calling 4 be OOP sucks and he would shove AK or AQ if he wanted to play them. but if you raise he will fold all worse hands.

you tend to say that a lot but I assume you don't check a flop like this every single time just to mix it up or do you?

this type of situation is so rare that there really isnt a need to "mix it up".
checking this flop with KK is SO superior to betting that I would always check here, UNLESS I felt he would put me on a strong hand by checking and a weak hand by betting. That would only apply vs a high level thinker.

I can't really see villain calling a 3 bet with AQ and under, so I think he has AK/TT+. I think this is TT+ a lot of the time. So I would bet out.
