Hi hope someone can help me,
I did something with my profile it seems I created another profile or something gos the computer is booting using the new profile. The other pofile is still there its called Family-PC which was made when I installed windows, but I can't seem to be able to switch to it.
, I went to System in control panel and clicked on Network ID and created a local user account, (not sure what I was trying to do) when i turn on the PC it boots now with this new profile but I want to restore the old one and Im getting nowhere. So If anyone can make sence of what Im trying to explain, It would be great. And help me get my profile back the wifes e-mail and files are on the old profile (Family-PC)

    Thanks all

check out the "documents and settings" folder in the c drive

your old profile will be in a folder called "Family-PC"

just copy all your docs and pics from this folder (try the "desktop" and "Family-PC's documents" subfolder) to your desktop

    your emails will be in..
    C:\Documents and Settings\Family-PC\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{lots-of-letters-and-numbers}\Microsoft\Outlook Express

just import them into outlook express

    Thanks for quick reply, mukki
I seem do have done what you said about the files I have a shortcut for them on the desktop now so I can get to them.
But it was Firefox Thunderbird she was using for her e-mails so I don't seem to know where to go to get them (e-mails ) and inport them in to Thunderbird, will it be something similer to what you said already

For Thunderbird, copy the directory C:\Document and Settings\Family-PC\Application Data\Thunderbird into the same location in the new profile directory. Thunderbird will automatically take care of the rest.

After a bit of work I managed to get all my e-mail back, I unstalled/re-installed Thunderbird as was able to change profile then, and got back all previous e-mails and address. Thanks to all.
I still have'nt got round windows 2000 profiles or what ever I did wrong.
