Good God, what was I thinking?! Well I was seven, so I suppose I can be forgiven. He has a bit of an Adam Ant look to him. I suppose those pretty eighties boys with make-up appealed to really young girls so much because they were non-threatening.

His real name was Jimmy McShane and he was from Northern Ireland. Understandable why he headed off to Europe so.

Really sad - he died of AIDS a couple of months before his 38th birthday.

I was absolutely insane about that song.

I remember trying to chant the intro of that song, and my Dad asking me if I was feeling okay!
This was my first crush - I had his posters on my bedroom wall.
    I was only 12 though...

My first crush was Fred Savage, (Kevin from the wonder years). I was nine when the Wonder Years Started and was mad about him for the entire series!

my first crush was a girl I went to scouts with. I was only about 9, but she pulled a powermove by coming to the hallowe'en fancy dress party dressed as Darth Vader

That'd be like a guy I had a crush on dressing as Wonder Woman. *thinks about it for a moment* ... No, it wouldn't earn him any extra points.

He was, wasn't he? Such chiselled features. I bet plenty of lads found Lady Penelope of Thunderbirds quite hot.

She's on QVC. I used to watch her on a show on the BBC called first class.
