    But wasn't just it just episode after episode of them running around after mcguffins, looking upwards and hiding behind giant teacup props?

    That was the beauty of the show. No storyline, no in-depth characterisation, just like a cartoon! It was genius!

    Just watched that first episode. Brings back great memories. So much happening in an 50 minutes, each episode is almost like a movie.

    Good show alright and (according to Wikipedia) they had a budget of $250,000 per episode!:eek:

    I think they should do a re-make of this show, but have it a bit more character driven than the original.
    The only problem with the original were there were constant hints of a Steve-Valerie-Mark love triangle and also some sort of chemitry between Dan and Betty, but they never went anywhere with it, because Irwin Allen was all about making action and adventure, he didn't have time for the day-to-day drama. Does anyone think there'd ever be a chance of a re-make? I'd love if there was.
    I'm sure they could get some big actors involved, I'd love to have the following cast in a remake, even though I know it would never happen;

    Steve - Carlos Bernard
    Dan - Rockmund Dunbar
    Mark - Zachary Quinto
    Valerie - Kiele Sanchez
    Fitzhugh - Andrew Divoff
    Betty - Julie Benz
    Barry - Sterling Beaumon (ok he's a bit older than Barry should be, but they can change things slightly)

    I remember this vaguely. Didn't Channel 4 start showing it on Sunday mornings after the reruns of Lost In Space (also Irwin Allen produced)? I never quite got into it the way I did Lost In Space - the storylines were quite similar at times but I just didn't think the characters were as interesting.

    I never got into Lost In Space myself, but the LOTG characters were loveable. You couldn't not like them, well except for Barry, he was annoying, but they needed a kid in the show, because they're so good at getting themselves into trouble.
