Alternative to Creative Inspire 5500

I'm looking for an active 5,1 speaker system for my (small) living room, mainly to be used with my Windows Media Centre PC, though it will also need to take input direct from my NTL box and Xbox 360 on occasion.

The Creative Inspire 5500 looks perfect - it has a decoder separate to the speaker that takes 3 separate inputs. I'd have the optiical audio out on the PC motherboard connected directly to the optical in, and use the other inputs for normal TV and Xbox 360.

The thing is, the 5500 seems to have been discontinued and I can't find it anywhere on the web (US only). Are there any alternative systems that can do what I need, and why would Creative retire this product cos it seems so versatile?

The Logitech 5500 seems to be a similar product, though it's pricey enough and reviews seem to suggest it might actually be too loud, even on lowest setting, for my room (semi-detached), and pretty big. Does anyone have any experience of it?

The ability to mount the speakers on stands would be a major plus.
