What's the difference between the two? Well, yeah I can see the difference in what they're made out of, but what's the difference in their purpose? Are there other common types of grease used in cars besides these?

Which ones should I use for stuff like door hinges, locks and the hinges on wiper arms?

copper greese is used on high temp parts like the back of brake pads.

Lithium or copper grease for coating the threads on spark plugs? Presumably it should be copper based if that is the one you reccommend for high temp environments

I can only sepak from bicycles, but hwere you have different metals in contact, copper should be used as it's sacrifical in the oxidization process.
Aluminium and titanium will become pretty stuck if you don't use copper grease.
    Edit; Bah, old thread.

Extremely old thread but I googled copper v lithium and this is what came up, may as well use treads that are relevant.

    Nothing, don't overtighten them, simple.

Is it not good practice to coat the threads in grease?
