I have a wireless network set up at the moment but i'm not happy with the performance so i want to wire my PC to my Router. I have a cable running into another bedroom but its not long enough to reach my PC. I want to buy another cable and some way connect both so it will reach my PC. What is the best way to do this? Tia

You can get a connector and plug both ends into it thus doubling the length

Unless you are using extremely long cables you should be able to use a cheap passive connector called an 'inline coupler'. You can pick them up in Maplin, Peats and similar shops.

I doubt you'd have a long enough cabling run in a home network to require a repeater.

How long does the cable need to be? It would probably work out cheaper and easier if u just bought a long cable.

for a permanent solution buy 2 (85mps) homeplugs .. better than wireless and no new cables

    cost , way they work

This looks interesting but maybe for 2 of them it might be a little expensive.

You should be able to pick up a longer cable. They tend to be expensive from PCWORLD etc so check the internet first. I think Marx computers do them relatively cheaply. If you know a 'computer guy' he should be able to knock a long one up for under 10 euro.
