Simple question....Does the record button on the chorus remote control for mmds digital serve any purpose ??

I mean what does it record to??..is there a hard drive in the decoder??

Like the 'interactive','email','internet' etc. buttons on my old NTL remote it serves no purpose other than to show you what you should get but can't with NTL/Chorus

They're probably using pretty generic remotes, i.e. they're designed for a lot of different STBs.

It is to setup times to switch channel for external recorder (PVR, VHS etc) on the SCART.

It seems to not work on most boxes. Also on the boxes that do support it you apper to have to manually cancel, i.e. it locks the channel change so someone can't mess up your recording.

You can record from the Chorus decoder to a vcr or recordable dvd, once you have a scart connection between the decoder and the recording device.
It's kinda clunky, but it works!

There is a problem at the moment though with recording from the decoder model known in Chorus as the STB2 which is under investigation.
