Am thinking about purchasing a Panasonic Pv700. any feedback or recommendations on where to buy?

its not available in ireland and wont be. you'll have to import one and it wont have a tuner that works over here.

pv70 is available in ireland. and more will be launched in mid-july

When you say more available in mid-july do you mean more of the same model or an upgraded pv70?

big moe is the new model this one th42pv7.htm price €1499 on the Alliance Electric site.
If so I notice it's got a contrast ratio of 8000 X 1.
As it's cheaper as well is it an inferior model in some way to the pv70 model?.

nah, the pv70 is better than the pv7. it's to compete with the like of LG etc

not sure what the new model number will be yet.
